AFP Digest
The AFP Digest (AFPD) is a database produced by the AFP Library that indexes and abstracts articles from selected Australian and international journals, conference papers and chapters of some books held in the library collection.
AFPD aims to support the information needs of personnel in federal law enforcement, community policing, national security and emergency management sectors. It is also used by educational institutions and the broader community as a reference resource.
The AFPD covers all aspects of policing including serious fraud, organised crime, drug trafficking, transnational crime, terrorism, community policing, national security, forensic science, training, social issues, criminology and management.
In 1971, the 'Police Digest' began in printed form as a current awareness service under the former Commonwealth Police. The Australian Federal Police Digest was automated and expanded and is now available as an online database, either as a single subscription or as part of the Austrom compilation of Social Science, Law and Education Databases.
Access
The Australian Federal Police Digest (AFPD) is available on the Internet from Informit Online, produced by RMIT publishing, a major Australian electronic publisher.
