Leadership in criminal intelligence program (LCIP)
The Leadership in Criminal Intelligence Program (LCIP) is a best practice, innovations area within AFP Intelligence tasked to research, analyse, advise and implement the development of intelligence doctrine and process.
Aim
To create an international centre of excellence in criminal intelligence.
Objectives
- To actively research peak elements of efficiency and effectiveness in the intelligence process and introducing these into our business practices.
- To influence acceptance of these issues into the broader criminal intelligence community through the promotion of the value of out learning.
- To develop and assess technical and organisational innovations aimed at improving intelligence processes.
- To identify and nurture a collective of the highest level of intelligence innovators to guide and support the implementation of intelligence best practice.
Strategies
LCIP achieves its objectives through:
- Delivery of the highest quality intelligence management training through the Intelligence Management Development Program (IMDP) by the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM).
- Sponsorship of the future Intelligence Executive Leadership Program (IELP) through the AIPM.
- Chairing the AFP Intelligence Doctrine & Process Working Group
- Researching, programming and convening international colloquia of leading experts and practitioners to examine current and emerging issues affecting criminal intelligence and the dissemination of agreed outcomes/strategies.
- The sponsorship and editorial control of the International Journal of Criminal Intelligence.
