International Journal of Criminal Intelligence
The first edition of a new professional journal, The International Journal of Criminal Intelligence, is due to be published in mid-2008. All practitioners, researchers, academics and business people with a professional interest in criminal intelligence and related fields are invited to submit articles, opinion pieces, case studies and letters for publication.
The International Journal of Criminal Intelligence aims to provide a forum for those with an interest in this area to share their knowledge and help develop effective doctrine and practice.
Journal focus
The International Journal of Criminal Intelligence aims to expand the boundaries of current thinking and encourage debate, especially on issues of criminal intelligence leadership, innovation, doctrine and process.
The journal gives priority to innovative ideas for dealing with current and future challenges. The editors are particularly interested in ideas that may improve the way that communities can be protected from criminal threats.
Topics of interest include:
- new criminal intelligence modes and methods
- ethical dilemmas in criminal intelligence
- promising new technologies in criminal intelligence
- challenges in building closer links between criminal intelligence and broader national intelligence organisations
- international criminal intelligence cooperation – what works and what does not
- trends in national and international crime and intelligence lessons for the future.
Contribution options
The International Journal of Criminal Intelligence plans to publish:
- letters to the Editor (under 100 words)
- opinion pieces (1000–2000 words)
- case studies of criminal intelligence operations and the lessons learned (3000–6000 words)
- major articles on issues relevant to criminal intelligence (3000–6000 words).
Publication frequency
The journal will be published twice a year.
