ACT Policing’s Strategic Plan (2008-2011) - 12 August 2008
This week’s release of ACT Policing’s Strategic Plan (2008-2011) signals our progressive four-year business blueprint in continuing to provide a quality and effective policing service to the people of Canberra. The plan sets out clear direction for our organisation whilst upholding our core vision and values.
Changes in technology and science, expansion of key demographics and fluctuating community expectations provides a constantly-changing environment that we as police must continually try and stay one step ahead.
Our focus and commitment to serving the community is reflected in our strategic objectives which are strengthening our ties with the community by providing a more accessible and highly-visible police force, a commitment to the prevention and deterrence of crime in line with community expectations, maintaining a responsive police force through regular training simulations, and developing a culture which encourages a strong customer service base and attracts innovative and ethical employees.
Focusing on our objectives and engaging the community with regular feedback, the plan allows us to become more effective in satisfying community expectations and moving forward as an intelligent and responsive organisation.
