Firearms dealers
Firearms dealers operating in the ACT must be licensed.
To obtain a licence, submit the Application for licence form (PDF, 105kB).
Firearms dealers must:
- only buy firearms from, or sell firearms to, persons who are authorised by licence or permit to possess the firearm
- keep records of all their transactions and dealings and send these records to the Firearms Registry
- provide quarterly returns to the Firearms Registrar
- comply with a number of other requirements that are designed to ensure the secure and responsible safe keeping of firearms, and
- ensure that displayed firearms are secured and supervised.
Firearms dealers are authorised to purchase firearms from interstate dealers.
