Identification of media workers
In light of the heightened security environment, tighter provisions for identity checking have been introduced to ensure that cardholders are genuine members of the media. The National Visits Media Card (NVMC) will be used to identify journalists and media workers who are assigned to cover visits to Australia by foreign dignitaries and other major events. The card will be administered by the Protective Security Coordination Centre (PSCC).
More information is available in the media release issued by the Attorney General's Office on 29 August 2003.
