Burglary leaves $12,000 damage at school

ACT Policing is investigating the burglary of a canteen at Marist College in Pearce in the early hours of Friday (September 12).

Police believe the burglary and extensive property damage occurred between 2.50am and 7.30am.

The offenders damaged kitchen appliances including fridges, freezers and microwaves. They also damaged a water pipe within the canteen area causing extensive flooding to the area.

The estimated damage bill is expected to exceed $12,000.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious persons or activity in the Pearce area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
