ACT Policing media release
Learner driver more than 10 times over the limit
Friday, 19 September 2008
ACT Policing will summons a 20-year-old Holder man on drink-driving and traffic charges after he was breath-tested on Adelaide Avenue in Deakin early this morning (Friday, September 19).
Police were conducting random breath-testing in Deakin around 12.20am today when the driver returned a positive reading to a roadside screening test for alcohol.
The driver was found to hold only a learner driver’s permit, he was unaccompanied by a licensed driver, and his vehicle did not display L plates.
He was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.213, or more than ten times the prescribed 0.02 limit for a special driver.
The man will face charges on all four offences and will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on a date to be fixed.
