Man faces court after alleged assault

A 22-year-old Kaleen man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, August 21) charged with recklessly inflicting grevious bodily harm after an incident in Kaleen last night (Wednesday, August 20).

Police will allege the man been involved in an argument with a 21-year-old man in Georgina Crescent, Kaleen, around 7.30pm yesterday when the alleged offender became violent and used a broken glass to strike out at the victim.

The victim sustained lacerations to his face and neck and was hospitalised.

The alleged offender fled the scene but a number of police resources were deployed to search for him and he was arrested around 9pm by members of ACT Policing’s Specialist Response and Security team in Onkaparinga Crescent, Kaleen.
