Police appeal for witnesses to assault in toilets

ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses to an assault of a male at a Dickson licensed premises about 12.45am on Sunday, August 31.
Police were called to the Trinity Bar on Challis Street about 1am on August 31 following a report of a male found in an adjacent car park with facial injuries.
The 22-year-old victim told police he had been struck several times from behind while in the toilets of the licensed premises, and kicked while on the ground. The offender had apparently left the premises before police arrived.
The victim was transported from the scene by ACT Ambulance.
A part-description of the offender has been provided. The offender is described as between 6’ (183cm) and 6’2” (188cm) tall, Caucasian in appearance, with short dark-brown hair, aged in his mid-20s, with a slim face and athletic build.
The offender may have been wearing a grey hooded top.
Police are urging persons who were at the Trinity Bar on Saturday night / Sunday morning and may have seen suspicious persons or behaviour in the male toilet, or may have seen a suspicious person similar to the description leaving the premises shortly after 12.45am to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
