Police seek witnesses to bookshop burglary

ACT Policing are calling for witnesses to an aggravated burglary that occurred around 6pm yesterday (July 13) in Braddon.
The incident took place at the Electric Shadows Bookshop located on Mort Street. As a retail assistant was preparing to close the shop, a male entered pulling a jumper or scarf over his face. He then produced a knife and demanded money from the till.
The offender obtained cash and fled the scene on a dark coloured mountain bike along Elouera Street. He was last seen heading across Northbourne Avenue.
The male offender is described as Caucasian, 175 to180cm (5’9” to 5’11”) tall, with a slim build and wearing a dark-coloured ski jacket with a beige stripe across the shoulders, a black beanie and dark pants.
Police would urge anyone who may know the identity of the offender or who witnessed suspicious persons in Braddon around 6pm yesterday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online to www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
