Two females arrested for aggravated robbery
Saturday, 20 September 2008
ACT Policing has arrested two females aged 21 and 18 after an aggravated robbery at the Neptune Street car park, Woden plaza, Woden last night (Friday, September 19).
About 6.30pm yesterday a 53-year-old Fadden woman returned to her vehicle, a black Mercedes ‘C’ class saloon. Once in her car, one of the alleged female offenders entered the vehicle via the unlocked passenger side door and ordered the victim out of her vehicle. When the victim did not comply the alleged female offender brandished a knife and cut the victim twice on the thumb. The second alleged female offender then opened the driver’s side door and dragged the victim from the car.
The two alleged female offenders then drove the vehicle from the car park. A short time later the vehicle was located by police patrols and the two alleged offenders were arrested from a home in Bonython.
The 21-year-old alleged female offender will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (September 20) charged with aggravated robbery. The 18-year-old alleged female offender continues to assist police with their inquiries.
Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed the robbery last night or may have any other information which would assist the police investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online to www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
