What attracted you to the AFP?
The AFP is never far from the front page of a newspaper. This reflects its position at the centre of the Government’s initiatives regarding law enforcement; counter terrorism and promoting stability within neighbouring nations. The AFP is a truly global organisation, its members deploy to over 30 nations in a variety of roles, and it’s a growing organisation. Being in Internal Audit is a great opportunity to positively guide the organisation through change and to see first-hand the wide variety of work the AFP conducts.
What are your impressions so far?
The AFP has not failed my expectations for interest, variety, and travel! There is a strong sense of community within the AFP; and my colleagues, throughout the organisation, are friendly and professional. No one stands still for long in here! It is a very dynamic workplace where flexibility and quickness are essential in responding to head-line events, as well as managing a changing organisation. It’s a great place to work!
