Human Resources (HR) Information

HR provides the framework for the management of AFP’s single biggest asset – our people. To ensure consistent and comprehensive service delivery, HR brings together a range of integrated practice areas including, workforce planning; recruitment and engagement; health and wellbeing; capability and performance; employee relations; diversity; learning and development and the confidant network.

Over the coming years HR will realise a number of internal changes to the way HR is delivered to the AFP through streamlining of the HR function with continued improvement to the delivery model. This will ensure strategic HR is aligned to the business and the implementation of HR strategies is supported within the functional model resulting in consistent and accurate processing of a range of people issues. The underlying imperative is to establish HR practices that are simple but focused on providing in clarity and understanding within the workforce.

The employment framework within the AFP is continuously being improved through the implementation of the Collective Agreement. The result is appropriate and flexible mechanisms being available to meet the expanding requirements of the business, and underpinning innovative recruitment strategies aligned with workforce planning for the future.

A career in HR provides applicants with a varied and multi-disciplined work setting. Importantly, HR offers the opportunity to work directly with a range of business portfolios in delivering contemporary solutions to people management issues, in a challenging and ever changing environment.
