Qualifications: Bachelor of Communications, specialising in Public Relations and majoring in Marketing.
What attracted you to the AFP?
I saw a media position advertised and was interested in applying because this was something new for me. After doing some research in to the role and the AFP, I was particularly attracted by the flexible working hours, the six weeks annual leave, the great remuneration and the fact I got to work in a larger team environment.
What are your impressions so far?
I have been working at the International Deployment Group, which is located at Majura, for approximately six months. I absolutely love working out here. I look out my window and see paddocks and pine trees, kangaroos and rabbits... it has a real 'village feel' to the place. I walk at lunch and occasionally use the gym, which is free and available to all staff. After working in Canberra City and fighting peak hour traffic to and from work and paying nearly forty dollars a week for parking this is a nice change.
My job is interesting and the work I do is diverse. I get to work with a range of people - sworn and unsworn, and have already had the opportunity to travel overseas.
