David

David has been a sworn member with the Australian Federal Police since 1986 and has worked in General Duties, Pursuit Motorcycles, Pursuit cars, Criminal Investigations BrancPhoto of MION member - Davidh, Close Personal Protection and was also a member of the Special Operations Team (now SRS) and AFP Diving Squad. Since returning from a posting to the Solomon Islands David has taken up a position with the Security Operations Team, Professional Standards. David has been a part of MION since its inception and is proud of the network and what it has achieved. David is a Ngunnawal man.

 

 

Janelle

Before joining the Australian Federal Police in 2001 as a sworn officer, Janelle completed a Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Since joining the AFP, Janelle has worked in Human Resources, National Investigations in Sydney Office and in ACT Policing as a uniform Police officer. Janelle has investigated a range of matters including drug and counterfeit credit card importations, fraud, assaults and robberies. She is now working as part of the School of Recruit Training at the AFP College. Janelle is an active member of MION and is proud to be a member of the Kamilaroi nation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan

Ryan spent 12 years with the Australian Army, and has been deployed overseas to New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and East Timor.

Ryan joined the Australian Federal Police in 2002 as a sworn officer and was assigned to National Investigations, Sydney Office. In September 2004 Ryan was attached to the International Deployment Group (IDG) Regional Assistance Mission Solomon Islands (RAMSI) where he was assigned to Operation FAENDEMAOT - National Ivestigations. In November 2005 Ryan was reassigned to Strategic Planning as the Team Leader of Marketing & Development. Ryan concluded IDG - RAMSI in September 2006 and has returned to National Investigations, Sydney Office.

Ryan is a descendent of the Kamilaroi people in Northern New South Wales. 

 

Vicki

Vicki has worked as a television sports reporter for channel 9, an Indigenous journalist with Perleeka Aboriginal television, and has been an educator in NSW schools and youth correctional facilities.

Vicki joined the AFP on the National Indigenous Cadetship Program studying a double degree in Criminology and Psychology. Vicki has worked in Brisbane as an Investigative Assistant, in Sydney in Area Operational Safety Training and was attached to the International Deployment Group in the Solomon Islands in 2004.

Vicki’s mother is from the Laperouse – Eora Language Region.

 

 

 

Steve

Before joining the Australian Protective Service in 1992 Steve worked as a cook, fencing contractor, youth worker and served in the Australian Army. Steve became a member of the AFP when the organisations integrated in 2004 and is currently a Duty Operations Manager, (Protection). Steve’s duties have taken him throughout Australia including Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs plus overseas to China. Steve is an active member of MION who is proud of his Indigenous heritage, Ngunnawal linage and links to the Wiradjuri People.

 

 

Kerry

Kerry left university to pursue a career in the Queensland Public Service Recruitment Unit. After transferring to the Work Cover Queensand, Kerry worked as a claims officer, compensation fraud investigator and a Senior Human Resource consultant. During this time, Kerry was also Chairperson of the Work Cover EEO Committee, Chairperson of the ATSI Network and a Sexual Harassment Referral Officer. In 2000, Kerry joined the Australian Federal Police as an Investigative Assistant on the Gold Coast and in 2002 transferred to Canberra as the Team Leader, Indigenous Community Liaison Officer, ACT Policing. Currently, Kerry is a Principal Policy Officer, within the Ministerial and Executive Coordination Team, Policy, Performance and Planning at ACT Policing Headquarters..

Kerry is a Munanjali woman.
